An Italian Journey
This Conceptual project traced major locations in Italy that were essential destinations for the Grand Tour. The work was inspired by the German writer Goethe's book about his Grand Tour in 1786-8. The complete work is comprised of 25 images each of which was accompanied by relevant quotations form Goethe's book. Many of the images were printed using older printing techniques such as Platinum, Cyanotype, Albumen etc. This darkroom-based work led to me being admitted to the Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society and was exhibited at Dimbola Lodge (Julia Margaret Cameron Trust) in April 2012.
